What it means

The fixed amount on a quote for services that are not itemised by the hour: an onboarding package, an implementation fee, a fixed-price proof of concept. It is a vendor-level figure entered once, counted once in the All Apps view, and apportioned to each application by its share of test cases — exactly as licences and infrastructure are. Each application’s Total Cost tab shows its share, and the shares always add back to the whole.

It lands in year 1 alongside the build and is treated as build investment in the ROI report: it lengthens payback the way extra build hours would.

Why it matters to the cost

Package fees are easy to leave out of a comparison because they appear once, on a separate line of the quote, and never recur. Yet on a small suite a $25,000 onboarding package can exceed the first year’s licence. Entering it here puts it in the year-1 total, the cumulative chart and the payback figure, so the vendor with the cheap licence and the expensive implementation is compared on what it actually costs to get started.
